Howto: UEFI Dual boot Win8-10 and Ubuntu Linux x64 in 5 steps

1) Disable: FastBoot and SecureBoot from BIOS

1-BIOS-Disable-Fastboot-and-Secureboot

 

2) Disable Windows FastBoot

2a-Win10-8-Disable-fastboot

2b-Win10-8-Disable-fastboot

2c-Win10-8-Disable-fastboot

 

3) Download:

  1. RUFUS, to format as GPT (not MBR) and write ISO into USB, from https://rufus.akeo.ie/
  2. Linux XXXXXX x64  (64bit version).ISO

3-RUFUS-GPT-UEFI_Boot-Linux-x64

 

4). ReBoot / Press F12 (Gigabyte mobo) and select to boot from UEFI USB stick / during Linux installation select as boot loader location -> SDA

4-Install Linux loader in sdA

 

5) After installing Linux, reboot and  press DEL for BIOS settings and change Boot order OR press F12 to select Boot device

5-BIOS_set as_1st-Boot-UBUNTU
